Biography
Kilema, real name Randrianantoandro Clément, is one of the greatest Malagasy musicians. Until recently, he was a member of the famous band Justin Vali Trio, with which he participated in countless festivals around the world such as WOMAD and Woodstock to name but a few. After breaking up with Justin Vali Trio, he founded his own band and currently lives in Cordoba, Spain.
Kilema is a master of several Malagasy instruments such as valiha, kabosy, and marovany. His music is based on the rich polyphony of southern Madagascar where he comes from. In 1999, he released his first album called ka malisa. Since then, he has also participated in major Spanish festivals such as ETNIMALAGA and ESPARRAGO.
Kilema's band has currently three members.
