Biography
Most of the band members are former students of the Gallieni high school. They went together to Antsirabe in 1982 for their national service and decided to form a band after finishing their service, in 1983.
Tsiakoraka likes country, blues, and ballad musics. The band used to play songs of other Malagasy groups such as Mahaleo, Lolo sy ny Tariny, Tselonina, Sareraka, and Nono. They also have a preference for some guitar giants such as James Taylor, Crosby, and Eric Clapton.
To become professional was not the aim of the band at the beginning. They did music just for fun and rarely appeared on stage.
But, after one of the band members, Setra, passed away in December 31, 1994, they determined to do music seriously and performed in many shows. As a result, they released their debut album Namana in 2001. (You can listen to sample songs of this album on Tranofalafa.)
The current band members are: Liva, Doda, Gerard, Fidy, Mamy, Fidy (keybord), Andry, and Fenitra.
