Madagascar is a great and beautiful Island in the south-eastern of Africa. It's the fourth largest island in the world with an area equals the size of California.

This unique tropical paradise has many diversity in geography. It is surrounded by golden beaches with coconut palm trees. The east and the north are occupied by impenetrable equatorial rainforests. An impressive large desert take up the southern part. A broad range of montains, grasslands, volcanoes and river valleys scattered from the middle to the western part of the island.

There are many beautiful cities and places in Madagascar. During the summer, you can go to the coasts such as Ambila, Mahajanga, Ifaty, Mananjary, Fort-dauphin, Antsiranana and enjoy yourself lying on the beaches or relaxing under the coconut palm trees. National parks and reserves such as Berenty, Ranomafana, Isalo allow you to see the lemurs, the orchids or simply the desert, especially at Isalo. Ambohimanga Rova also is a nice place to visit, it helps you to know the history of Madagascar and the Malagasy people.

Madagascar has a considerable number of plants and animals that you will never find anywhere else in the world. For instance, it is famous for its lemurs, baobab trees, ravinala--or the traveler's tree, orchids, chameleons, and butterflies just to name a few.

Originally, the people in Madagascar came from different regions of the world such us India, Europe, Africa, Asia, Malaysia, and Philippines. In spite of the wide variety of races, we are unified by our language because we use only one language throughout the island: Malagasy.
